Located at United Medical Center on Southern Avenue, SE., Washington DC, Children’s National Medical Center claims a state of the art, full-service emergency department comprising of 10,800 sf. The space includes examination rooms, a lab, and treatment rooms surrounding a teaming center utilizing the children’s color scheme, while providing a creative and functional space. The colorful puzzle piece theme is carried throughout the space starting from the custom back-lit art at the intake counter and waiting area to an over-sized puzzle shaped, starlight filled bulkhead which is mirrored on the floor containing an array of jumbo puzzle pieces. Great care taken to ensure the safety and visibility of pediatric patients at all times. Finish selections were based on their sanitary ability, functionality and theme compatibility.
